From time to time Ribiere delivers surprises even we find hard to believe!!
I visited Alex Ramsey and his brother on a very wet Thursday morning. Both brothers had fished hard all week but to no avail. The influx of cold rainwater had put the fish in a very uncooperative mood !
Warmer temperatures where forecast and it was all I could do to re assure the brothers that things would improve dramatically. Unfortunately time was running out and with one of the brothers having to fly back early on the Friday for a social commitment it was looking like a tough week.
Alex made the trip to Limoges airport to drop his brother off and then returned to peg 7 and set about re positioning his rods for his final 12 hour session.
Then the incredible happened!
With the rising temperature and the rods out of the water for a short while, a large group of fish had moved into the bay opposite peg 7 and in only 12 hours Alex had managed something rarely heard of in carp fishing history, a 20, a 30, a 40, a 50, a 60 and a 70 !!!!!
Fishing on his own without his brother, Alex netted all the fish on his own and finally retired to his bivvy exhausted !
Well done Alex what a result !
